Cabo de Gata, Almeria, Spain

Cabo de Gata is a Spanish town belonging to the municipality of Almeria, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is located in the southern part of the metropolitan region of Almeria. It has a census population of 1,657 inhabitants (2020 data).

The entrance to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park is free, as long as the environment and the living beings that inhabit the area are respected. The most outstanding places are El Faro de Cabo de Gata that can be seen on clear days from other towns at dusk.

The Almadraba de Monteleva, the Torre de los Lobos in Rodalquilar, and the spectacular views of the coast of Cabo de Gata, Agua Amarga and Carboneras or the Botanical Garden “El Albardinal”.

Beaches

The beaches in Cabo de Gata are of recognized quality, coves and pristine beaches, some famous as the beach of Los Genoveses, the beach of Mónsul or the coves of Barronal and San Pedro, among others.

You can practice natural activities such as scuba diving, boat trips or kayaking. On land hiking, biking or walking. It also has restaurants, bars, hotels and pubs.

A subtropical environment in which desert and coast come together creating a characteristic environment within the European continent.
